Additional Ticket Information
Our tickets are available in several categories, designed to cater to the needs of different types of anglers. The "Local" tickets are offered at a discounted rate to residents of the Muirkirk area, while "Visiting" tickets are for anglers who come from outside the area. Visiting juvenile tickets are £5.00 for children under 16, but they must always be accompanied by a paying adult.
In addition to our regular permits, we offer Day Tickets that can be purchased at the start of the fishing season. These tickets are a fantastic option for casual anglers who wish to enjoy the River Ayr for a single day without committing to a full season permit. Day Tickets can be collected directly from the local garage in Muirkirk, but please ensure you purchase them early, as demand can be high during peak fishing seasons.
How to Obtain Your Tickets
Tickets for Muirkirk Angling Association are available for purchase in two ways:
- In-Person at Muirkirk Garage: Starting from the 2024 season, you can purchase Day Tickets directly from the garage in Muirkirk. This is the preferred method for those looking to buy a ticket for a single day of fishing.
- By Arrangement with the Ticket Secretary: If you wish to purchase a local permit or a season ticket, please contact our Ticket Secretary, Mr. S Dempster, to arrange ticket collection. As he works shifts, it's essential to arrange this in advance to avoid delays or issues with availability. You can reach Mr. Dempster at 07598 753270 for more information or to confirm your ticket pickup.
Waiting List
If you're someone who would like to fish at Muirkirk, please note that there is often a waiting list for our visiting anglers. To secure a spot, it's advisable to contact the Ticket Secretary in advance. The Ticket Secretary can provide you with more information regarding the waiting list and availability for the upcoming season. This process ensures that all visitors have fair access to our fishing locations while maintaining the quality of the experience for everyone.
Important Reminders
- All season permits must be collected by prior arrangement, especially for visitor permits. Please don’t show up without confirming your collection time with the Ticket Secretary.
- Ensure that you have the correct ticket type based on your status (local, visiting, senior, juvenile). Misunderstandings about ticket categories can lead to delays or denied access to fishing waters.
- Day Tickets are available for purchase during the 2024 season, so plan ahead if you’re looking to fish for just a day.
